Most of the functionality of BillMax will be unavailable until a valid BillMax license is installed. If the BillMax license was not installed while installing BillMax, the license may be installed by accessing the BillMax Staff Interface using a web browser. In general, the URL will be the name of the BillMax server. The following login page will be displayed:
Use the BillMax administrator username and password that were specified when installing BillMax.
After a successful login, the following page will be displayed:
Click on the Settings link on the Navigation Bar. Click on the "LICENSE INFO" button. The license page will be displayed:
From top to bottom, the following is found on this page:
SAVE buttonClicking on this button causes the license in the input field to be validated and stored.
The date and time the license page is accessed.
The operating system on which BillMax is operating.
The MAC address of an ethernet card installed in the server on which BillMax is operating.
The IP address of an ethernet card installed in the server on which BillMax is operating.
Clear buttonClicking on this button causes erasure of the data in the input field.
Revert button
Clicking on this button causes the current license to be redisplayed. Any new data entered in the input field will be lost. This is only effective if the SAVE button has not been clicked.
An entry field for entering a new license. Also displays the current license if one exists.
The version of the license currently installed.
The version of BillMax for which the current license was issued.
The name of the BillMax customer for which the current license was issued.
A comment entered by the BillMax CSR.
The date the current license was issued.
The BillMax CSR who issued the current license.
The expiration date of the current license. BillMax will cease to operate the day after this date. Even though most customers who purchase BillMax purchase a renewing license without time limits, BillMax issues licenses that have an expiration date for the following reasons:
To keep track of who is using which license. BillMax is licensed to the purchaser. The purchaser may not resell the license or assign the license without approval from BillMax Billing Solutions.
BillMax Billing Solutions reserves the right to not issue a renewing license to a customer who is negligent in promptly paying funds owed to BillMax.
The maximum number of Accounts that are not in the Closed State allowed by the current license.
The maximum number of Users that are not in the Closed State allowed by the current license.
The maximum number of Services that are not in the Closed State allowed by the current license.
The maximum number of Sale transaction allowed by the current license.
The MAC address of an ethernet card on the primary BillMax server.
The IP address of the ethernet card with the Primary Machine ID.
The MAC address of an ethernet card on the secondary BillMax server. This may be used for a failover server, a reports server, etc. BillMax supports up to three secondary servers. Contact <sales@billmax.com> if interested in licensing a secondary server.
The IP address of the ethernet card with the Secondary Machine ID.

Used internally by BillMax.
To insert the new license:
click the Clear button.
Open the email which contains the license.
Highlight the license block and copy it.
Paste the license block in the input field.
Click the Save button.
If the license is successfully inserted and you have a purchased license, please validate that the license reflects what you purchased.
