Other Maintenance Tasks

Other maintenance tasks may include:

  1. Optionally archiving/purging the datacall table. This may be done using the archivetable utility.

  2. Review the list of auth.users. This should be done to make sure that only appropriate personnel have access to the Staff Interface.

  3. Review the UNIX system logs. These logs, commonly found in the /var/log or /var/adm directories contain information about the performance of the BillMax server. Message may indicate:

    • Hardware errors.

    • Login failures.

    • Hacking attempts.

    and other items of interest.

  4. Review the email of the user "root". Undeliverable error messages may be sent to "root" from BillMax.
