bsd-killall — Send a signal to one or more programs referenced by program name

Synopsis

/usr/local/billmax/bin/bsd-killall [-h] [-d] [-v] [-l] [-m] [-s] [-SIGNAL] {program_name}

DESCRIPTION

Sends a signal to one or more programs referenced by program name.

For this script to execute successfully, the command uname -s must return one of the following:

  • FreeBSD

  • Linux

  • SunOS

  • BSD/OS

[Warning] Warning

This program sends a signal to programs based on the name of the program, not the PID. Therefore non-BillMax programs that are executing that have the same name or the name contains the substring of the submitted command may receive the signal.

OPTIONS

-h

Show help for this program.

-d

No effect.

-v

No effect.

-l

Lists all the names of the signals.

-m

No effect.

-s

Do not signal the program(s), but list the PIDs that would be signaled.

-SIGNAL

The signal to send to the program. The default is -TERM.

RETURN VALUE

0 for success.
