Integration Overview

Avalara® is a Software As A Service(SAAS) tool for tax calculations. The BillMax Avalara integration provides taxes for BillMax financial transactions. BillMax sends the transaction information along with a T/S pair and a place code. The T/S pair identifies the transaction type and service type to tie to Avalara product mappings. The place code is the location of the User/Service location where billing will occur. The tax is returned from Avalara.

This integration requires an agreement with Avalara that includes the necessary username, password, and Client Id to use Avalara's API calls and is available only in BillMax 4.0.8800 or versions released since. A new license key with Avalara enabled is required.

Note: As testing and implementation begins, if an invoice is posted without the tax service and then the tax service engine is enabled, the invoice will not be able to be deleted. The converse is also true.

Creating pending transactions under a tax service engine and then disabling the tax service engine may keep the invoice from being able to be posted. The transactions will need to be fixed or regenerated. The converse is also true.
