Usage Based Billing

Usage Billing is based on statistics. Pricing is applied to the statistics based on what is specified in a Tierplan. A tier plan outlines what measurements and what computations will be used to calculate the usage based computation result. A tier plan may contain zero or many tiers.

There are two steps in Usage Based Billing. First, BillMax uses data contained in the stats table to calculate the single value (the usage based computation result) of the specified mathematical computations on the applicable statistics. Next, the value is used in determining what should be billed. Both steps are configurable.
